The Troy college recently signeda 10-year lease with 400 Jordan Road LLC. The schooo will pay approximately $605,000 a year to leass 36,557 square feet of Hudson Valley’s popular paramedic program will occupy abougt half of thenew space. The schoolp also will move its respiratorgy care program and a that train employees forarea businesses, according to Stephen Cowan, director of the college’ physical plant. The remainder of the leased space willhouse ’as Next Step office, a communications worker trainin g program coordinated by the college.
Those departmente all currently are located inHudsonn Valley’s 90,000-square-foot Hy Rosenblum Administration Center, a 1940sw era building that Cowan said needs major renovations. “It’s a tiredx old building. We are looking at total renovationesor demolition,” he said. But the collegr decided to lease space from the through 400 Jordanj Road LLC for 10 years while the college decides whether it should overhaul or tear down the HyRosenblum building. The colleges continues to grow, but because of the economt it does not have the money to renovatew the current buildingright now, Cowan said.
