Honolulu had 13,900 online job postingse in May, compared to 11,600 in April and up from 10,80 in May 2008. Job postings in Hawaii have been upsince January. The states was up 1,500 job postingsz in May to 17,100, a 1.5 percenyt increase from 15,600 in April. It’s down almost 23 percenf from 22,100 in May 2008. “The May bounced in labor demand is a verywelcome sign,” Conference Board senior economist Gad Levano said in a news release.
“While April was by May employers were placing ads for workers in numerouss locations across the Over the lastfour months, theree are now about a half dozen states wherd the drop in labor demand shows signes of leveling off and anothee handful of states show some very moderat increases.” The nonprofit Conference Board is a leading business membership and researchh organization. It produces the Consumer Confidence Index and Leading Economic Indicatores for the United States andmajor nations.
